Arthur Antines Coimbra (アルツール・アンチネス・コインブラ) is a Brazilian forward introduced in the Tecmo game series.
History[]
Captain Tsubasa II: Super Striker[]
Coimbra first appeared during the Rio Cup chapter, with his face not fully shown at the time. He warned Carlos that if Tsubasa managed to awaken as a Super Striker, Carlos will stand no chance.
Coimbra did not appear again until the World Youth finals, when it was finally revealed that he was Brazil Youth's true #10, a secret weapon that Roberto Hongo had preserved until that very match.
Captain Tsubasa III: Kotei no Chosen[]
Coimbra was a starting player of Brazil in the Universal Youth.
Captain Tsubasa IV: Pro no Rival-tachi[]
A top-notch player who is considered to be number one in Brazil. He dribbles almost twice as fast as any other player in South America! He doesn't have many special techniques, but his special shots are all very powerful. He's a complete striker. He and Carlos are in perfect synch!
- Captain Tsubasa IV: Pro no Rival-tachi, the Complete Book of Secrets guide.
Coimbra had joined Flamengo with his friend and rival, Carlos.
Captain Tsubasa V: Hasha no Shogo Campione[]
One of Brazil's most famous players. He and Santana are rivals and best friends at the same time. Together, they had a fierce battle against Tsubasa when the latter was still playing for Sao Paulo. During a game, he was badly injured after being tackled by an opposing defender. Now he is in the hospital. The injury is not healing well, and it is said that he may have to retire.
- Captain Tsubasa V: Hasha no Shogo Campione, V Jump Books guide.
Coimbra did not appear as a player in Captain Tsubasa V: Hasha no Shogo Campione, since he had suffered a serious injury and his football career was endangered. Santana had fallen into a slump after that, because of the shock of losing his friend and the fear of injury. However, when Santana went to the hospital to visit Coimbra, Coimbra said that he didn't regret anything. Santana was revived after that, and achieved victory in the Copa America. Later, after the match between Japan and Brazil in the World Tournament, Coimbra said that he would return from this injury, since he wanted to fight against Tsubasa.
Etymology[]
His name is a reference to Zico's real name, Arthur Antunes Coimbra.
