For the similar technique, see Counter Shot.

The Quick-Firing Gun with a Reactive Kick (反動蹴速迅砲, Romaji: Han Dou Shuu Soku Jin Hou, Pinyin: fǎn dòng cù sù xùn pào) is a counter shot originated from Xiao Junguang.

Description[]

The user must counter a shot [1] or clearance [2] with a shot of their own. More specifically, the user strikes at the right timing on opponent's kick, adding his power to the shot and making the ball fly at an amazing speed.

Story[]

This can be considered a defensive technique, since this is clearing an opponent's shot, and can even be used solely for that purpose[4] as well as an offensive one, since the countered shot or clearance can be targeted at the opponent's goal [5].

Xiao says that "the stronger the opponent's shot becomes, the stronger the resulting counter shot will be". The technique can also become dangerous since it can injure the opponent's leg or make it numb, but the user's leg can be injured as well[6].

This technique has a characteristic of leaving an afterimage behind. The afterimage varies depending on the user: a phoenix for Tsubasa, a tiger for Hyuga, and a dragon for Xiao, Natureza, Schneider and Michael. However, in the case of Rivaul, he couldn't match the timing of Schneider's Fire Shot, therefore no afterimage was seen.

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions[]

Rise of New Champions closely follows the technique's principles in the manga. Superspeed Kickback Cannon is classified as a Block Move but still sends a shot back. It has no Power rating but the resulting counter shot's varies directly with the power of the shot it is countering. The resulting shot is classified as a ground and direct shot, so Skills that affect either such as No-Trap Shooter (which Xiao has and can teach) and Shun Nitta's Bonanza, affect its power. Furthermore, the resulting counter shot can also be countered if an opponent knows the technique.

New Hero custom players may obtain this by achieving a high Friendship Rank with Xiao and achieving SS Blocking Rank 4 times. The earliest it can be learned is after the Junior Youth World Challenge semifinal against France even if the criteria are met sooner. The move has 20 Cost, which is tied with Tsubasa's ☆Neo Drive Shot that includes the Miracle Drive Shot and Juan Diaz's ☆Miracle Overhead (Miraculous Overhead Shot) that includes the Miracle Bound, for the highest in the game, has C Range and has a 60% Spirit Cost (the latter of which is shared with other Block Moves).

Trivia[]

  • This technique is likely based on the Tecmo version of the (Miraculous) Counter Shot, a technique used by Tsubasa Ozora, Kojiro Hyuga, Karl Heinz Schneider and Alcion.
  • Michael's regular shot can have the same effect as the Reactive Fast Kick Quick Gun, making a dragon appear. However, it is not the same technique, since Michael solely uses his shooting power instead of countering another player's shot.
    • Still, Michael is fully capable of using the Reactive Fast Kick Quick Gun, as shown during the match again Olympic Mexico.
