Neo Tiger Shot (ネオタイガーショット, neo taigā shotto) is the improvement of the Tiger Shot; this is a more powerful straight shot and a trademark technique of Kojiro Hyuga.

Description[]

Hyuga learnt it after performing many shooting practices with a ball 3 times heavier than a normal ball.

Users[]

Kojiro Hyuga Japan Karl Heinz Schneider Germany

(similar to the Fire Shot)

History[]

During Hyuga's training with the heavy ball he received from coach Kira to congratulate him for winning the 16th National Middle School Soccer Tournament[1] and since Kojiro had sworn to become the best striker in the world, he trained secretly at nights with the ball, thus improving the strength of his shot. As a result, he was initially weakened and battered during daytime. But the extra training was fruitful and Hyuga scored with this powerful shot in the first group match against Italy Jr. with Japan Jr.'s winning goal.

It is sometimes said that Kojiro is shooting mere Tiger Shots, especially during overheads, jumping volleys, or in Twin Shots. It is unclear if they are indeed only Tiger Shots because the circumstances are harder, implying Kojiro is not able to use it at every times, or if they are all Neo Tiger Shots and the prefix "neo" was just forgotten or unspecified.

Other variations[]

Hyuga performs the Tiger Shot and Neo Tiger Shot on running volleys and overheads, as well as jumping volleys during the World Youth saga[2].

How to Obtain[]

New Hero custom players in Rise of New Champions may obtain this in one of two ways:

  • By reaching Friendship Rank S with Hyuga and then completing a Special Mission involving achieving A Shooting Rank with the Tiger Shot equipped in the Junior Youth World Challenge Final.
  • By reaching Friendship Rank S with both Hyuga and Tsubasa Ozora before the semifinal and choosing to learn the Neo Tiger Shot during an Extra Event. Doing so also enables the character to obtain the Neo Drive Tiger Twin Shot with Tsubasa as a partner.
