This is the section about the "Falcon Fighter", Shun Nitta's techniques, during the Captain Tsubasa series.

Characteristics[]

  • Fast learner: Nitta was shown to be a fast learner in numerous occasions - mastering the no trap shot in a few tries, efficiently using both legs in a month, advancing to black belt 1st dan in a considerably short amount of time and mastering a karate technique that Wakashimazu, who is at a higher grade (black belt 5th dan), hadn't been able to master yet.
  • Speed: While not exactly a special technique, Nitta's speed is one of his greatest assets, as he is said to run 100 meters in 11 seconds or 50 meters in 6 seconds. This was called Speed Star in Gekito no Kiseki.

Aerial shots[]

  • Jumping Peregrine Falcon Volley: He used it first in the J-Village training camp against Michel Yamada from Real Japan 7. The particularity of this technique is that Nitta can use it with his left leg, being even harder for a trained keeper to catch efficiently. Nitta can do it with his both feet.
  • Triangle Jump (三角飛び sankaku tobi): Nitta utilizes the Triangle Jump that is usually used by Wakashimazu in defense in order to reach the ball and shoot.
  • Wakado Style Super High Kick (若堂流超上段蹴り, wakadō-ryū chō jōdan geri): A skill acquired from training the Wakado Style in the Wakashimazu family dojo. Nitta can use it to make a shot on a very high ball, regardless of his stance and angle towards the ball.

  • Loop Shot: A shot done in order to avoid a keeper coming out of his goal. The player kicks the ball upwards as if scooping it up from underneath, giving the shot a curved trajectory that passes over the head of the keeper as if being sucked into the net.
  • Peregrine Falcon Shot: A strong, straight shot made possible by Nitta's naturally strong legs. Initially only done with his right leg, Nitta later learns to do it with the left as well.
  • Peregrine Falcon Running Volley: A strong, straight volley utilizing Nitta's strong legs. It's most prominent characteristic is Nitta's ability to do it without trapping the ball, including on passes coming from behind. The technique has many names, such as Direct volley Peregrine Falcon Shot, Peregrine Falcon running direct volley shot, and No Trap Peregrine Falcon Running Volley.
  • Wakado Style Peregrine Falcon Kick (若堂流隼蹴り, wakadō-ryū hayabusa geri): A secret technique of the Wakado Style. Nitta acquired this by training at Hida's mountain waterfall, in order to improve his Peregrine Falcon Shot. The shot that is done by this technique can went through a violent waterfall and then rebound without losing its power.

Defensive techniques[]

  • Falcon Intercept: Nitta uses his excellent speed and flexibility to intercept. He responds quickly to an opponent's pass to steal the ball.
  • Peregrine Falcon Tackle: Nitta uses his speed to swiftly close the distance between him and his dribbling opponent from a blind spot and uses the Peregrine Falcon Shot as a tackle.

  • Wakado Style Tornado Kick (若堂流竜巻蹴り, wakadō-ryū tatsumaki geri): Nitta jumps while turning around, in order to kick the ball in the air.
