For the similar technique, see Forward Somersault Block.

The Forward Somersault Shot (前転シュート, zenten shūto) is an individual's skill shot by using the heel of the player's foot.

Description[]

This is a shot performed when the ball is in the air by kicking it with the heel while coming out of a forward somersault. Hitting the side of the ball gives it a fierce sidespin, making it curve in a trajectory hard for the keeper to react to.

Story[]

The technique first appeared in Captain Tsubasa, chapter 43, when Tsubasa did a special jump in order to beat Wakashimazu in the Yomiuriland finals.

This technique is mostly used by Juan Diaz during his matches against Japan. Diaz did a special jump in order to beat Wakashimazu, scoring him a goal in the U-16 tournament. Later on, Kojiro Hyuga was able to do this somersault as a pass to Misaki when his shot was blocked by Pascal.
