For the other version of this character, see Joao Aragones.

Joao (ジョアン, joan) is the former coach and mentor of Roberto Hongo in Brazil who has been managing several clubs, including Sao Paulo and the all-star club, Campione.

Description[]

Joao's name was mentioned by Roberto in the original manga, but he didn't make an actual appearance back when the game was developed. The game developers then decided to create their own version of Joao as a major character in Captain Tsubasa V: Hasha no Shogo Campione.

Profile[]

Little is known about Joao's background. Joao used all of his ability as a coach to make Roberto a star player. However, Roberto suffered permanent damage to his eyes.

Joao wanted to run away from football, but after learning that Roberto had started to become a coach, he decided to create the "Perfect Masterpiece", as well as the "strongest team in the world". But in the end, his team lost to Japan. Joao admits that he has made a mistake, as even though he had excellent players, he didn't make them a good team.

Due to Joao's expertise and influence, it is presumed that most of Roberto's abilities resumed in the annotations book he gave to Tsubasa are inspired on Joao's own philosophy and style.
