Jun Misugi (三杉 淳), is a midfielder of Japan Junior.
Description[]
This is the Rise of New Champions depiction of Jun Misugi. He wears the #14 jersey for both Musashi and Japan Junior.
Story[]
In the Musashi route of Episode New Hero, in Rise of New Champions, with Musashi having lost to Toho in the Tokyo tournament, Misugi is ready to put the sport behind him before hearing about the Junior Hero League. He resolves to meet Tsubasa and Nankatsu in the final with both teams unbeaten and then win. He is also offered a player/coach spot with Japan by Munemasa Katagiri on the condition that he plays every game and excels.
Misugi also welcomes the new player to the team and sees his value in helping shore the team up during the first half. After the team beats Furano, he collapses in the locker room and is hospitalized and ruled out of the next match against Toho. He is distraught thinking his chance to play for Japan has gone, but brings himself to attend the next game when he hears Musashi is rallying to beat Toho, after which he learns that the new player and the rest of the team drew strength from his dream to meet Tsubasa and Nankatsu in the final of the event. He then plays the whole game against Nankatsu, believing it to be his last game, and is elated when Musashi prevails. Much to his surprise and excitement, he is selected for Japan on the grounds that his heart condition is not an issue and that he made up for not playing against Toho by playing the full game against Nankatsu.
His role during the Junior Youth World Challenge is that of a coach and super-sub, though he also welcomes the chance to play the Netherlands and test himself against Brian Cruyfford, who inherited the jersey number of his idol on the U-16 national team of his idol's country. After Japan prevails and the team returns home, he reveals that he is undecided about his future but plans to also pursue medicine.
