The Junior Youth World Challenge (ジュニアユース・ワールドチャレンジ), also known as JYWC, is a new U-16 World Cup, meant to be held in the United States and organized by George Cardinal and his IT company, which also has its own U-16 team.

Description[]

Regular route[]

The tournament has to be played first in a regular route, against several strong teams in a group stage and then a knockout stage.

Group stage includes: Japan (the player's team), Senegal (Senghor's team), Netherlands (Cruyfford's team), and Italy (Hernandez and Rusciano's team). Here, Japan needs to assure its classification, where the opponents will have stronger abilities and different playstyle throughout the tournament.

During the Knockout stage, the quarterfinals is first against Argentina (Diaz's team); then, the semifinals against France (Elle Sid Pierre's team); and last, the finals against Germany (Schneider and Heine's team).

Germany (RONC) 2

During the Knockout stage, Tsubasa will obtain a new shot, the Neo Drive Shot, depending on the friendship you make with the player. A similar case happens with Matsuyama and Misugi. Also, in the finals, another shot can be obtained, the Drive Tiger Twin Shot, depending on the friendship you have with Hyuga and the A Rank goal attempts the player makes when entering the PK area.

Unlocked alternative routes[]

Ryan Ortiz (RONC) 2

After winning the cup, Japan (the player's team) can choose to do either the Brazil Route to face Carlos Bara's team or the America Route, to face Ryan Ortiz's team. The America Route has a special ending, as well, which will affect some of the in-game dialogues of Tsubasa's team, Roberto's speech, and Ryan's team.

Unlocked alternative players[]

Nine DLC players will be added in blocks of three. The first three DLC players were made available on the December 3 2020, the next three in March/April 2021, and the last ones with a later date still not specified.

About the gameplay[]

According to producer Katsuaki[1]: "we still wanted the player choices to be meaningful, that's why we implemented different ramifications that can slightly change the original story, depending on the player's actions".

According to the game analysis, the victories and defeats will count when it comes to unlocking and influencing the events of the story, which will help us to have a much more varied development than usual games based on anime licenses like this one.
