Kai Kaga (加我 海, Kaga Kai) is a forward introduced in Captain Tsubasa ZERO - Kimero! Miracle Shot.

History[]

Kai Kaga was a forward of Sapporo. He, Haruto Fujimori and Daichi Inafune were childhood friends, and they called themselves the Land - Sky - Sea Trio. While he was the ace striker of the team, he had very little presence, as it was hard to notice him. Sapporo used to be considered the number 1 team of the Hokkaido prefecture, but after losing to Hikaru Matsuyama's Furano in the prefectural preliminaries finals, Kaga began to question the team's direction, as they - especially Fujimori - were focusing too much on defense, thinking of it as a tradition, while completely disregarding offense. As Inafune noticed this, Kaga told him that he wanted the team to practice offense more and come up with strategies for that. Inafune then encouraged Kaga to tell Fujimori about it. Kaga still hesitated to do so however, as he was not sure what the team was supposed to do while being in offense. But then he realized that his own lack of presence could work to their advantage, and began to practice a new strategy with some of his teammates.

As the practice match against Furano - a rematch of the prefecture finals - was about to start, Kaga proposed his strategy, which he called the Korpokkur Counter, to Fujimori. Sapporo successfully scored the opening goal thanks to it, but still lost in the end. Despite that, the players agreed that Sapporo could be about more than just defense, and they could keep growing.
