Luikal (ライカール, raikāru) is a Dutch player who plays for Barcelona.
Description[]
Luikal first appeared in Road to 2002 arc, when Tsubasa started playing for FC Barcelona.
Etymology[]
His name is based on real life player Frank Rijkaard (whose name is written as フランク・ライカールト in katakana), but the character is more likely based on Patrick Kluivert.
Techniques[]
Ground shots[]
- Running Volley: This is a skill that is performed by running up to shoot the ball while it's low in the air, rather than first trapping it. Luikal manages to do a direct shot after receiving a pass from Xavii but is blocked by Danil Silva[1].
Defensive techniques[]
- Jumping Header: The player heads the ball while it's high in the air. This technique requires that the player possesses sufficient skill to keep his balance in mid-air while accurately hitting the ball. Luikal can surpass many players due to his height but was equal to Sagado in their personal clash[2].
