Next Dream (ND) is a story arc featured in the mobile game Captain Tsubasa: Tatakae Dream Team. It takes place after the last manga arc, Captain Tsubasa Rising Sun: The Final, covering league games in various countries and the UEFA Champions League. In his many interviews ever since Next Dream first debuted in 2021, Takahashi announced this would be part of the narrative of the Captain Tsubasa manga series, a sequel written by him and illustrated by Klab game staff.

- During the interview with ORICON NewS in September 2021, Yoichi Takahashi said that Rising Sun might be the final manga story arc, since there is a possibility that he will not be able to continue drawing, given his age. Lately, it seems his words have gradually come true after the announcement of Captain Tsubasa Rising Sun: The Final.
- Also in said interview, it is suggested that the story would still continue on via the game Captain Tsubasa: Tatakae Dream Team, with Next Dream taking place after Rising Sun.
