The Right-Angle Defense (直角ディフェンス, chokkaku difensu) is a defensive technique which is a countermeasure of the Right-Angle Feint, making it effective in Man-to-man marking.
Description[]
In this technique, the defender turns 90 degrees right in front of the opponent who has already done a similar 90 degree feint and has dribbled away to the side, then said user chases him just as fast in order to take the ball. This tackle was designed as a countermeasure against Aoi's "Right-Angle Feint".

Variations[]
- Right-Angle Defense + Stretching Face Block: It is a double-step technique, where Akai first utilizes his Right-Angle Defense to get closer to the ball than his opponent, then uses both hands to stretch and reach the ball, successfully repelling the incoming pass with a Face Block.
Game-exclusive technique
- Aggressive Right-Angle Defense: Akai follows the trajectory of even the sharpest angled dribbling, throwing his whole body in to stop a breakthrough.
