Ruud Gullit (ルート・グーリット) is a real-world player, who made a cameo in the Battle of World Youth arc.

Description[]

Gullit appears in a special chapter of the World Youth (#34.1) named "Challenge to Gullit".

Biography[]

Gullit is was former footballer who played professionally in the 1980s and 1990s, playing as a forward for UC Sampdoria. Gullit played at the top of his generation.

Pre Battle of World Youth[]

Akai moved to Italy after middle school, and became a player of the Sampdoria Primavera. His first appearance was when he returned to Japan to act as an interpreter for Ruud Gullit. Here, Gullit met Shingo Aoi, who wanted to learn his technique, the Right-Angle Feint. He told Aoi how to do it, and Akai was offered as an opponent to test the new technique. In this way, He was able to pass one of his trademark techniques to both Shingo Aoi and Tomeya Akai.

Also, with the Right-Angle Dribble, Gullit was able to pass over both Aoi and Akai at the same time, demonstrating why he is the master of this technique and also how he's on the top of the Italian league.
