Ryo Ishizaki (石崎 了, Ishizaki Ryo) is a Japanese defender that appeared in the Tecmo game series.

Description[]

This is the Tecmo game series version of Ryo Ishizaki, a character from the original manga.

History[]

Captain Tsubasa (MCD) & Captain Tsubasa (FC)[]

Main article: Ryo Ishizaki

While Ishizaki's story followed the original manga in general, there were also various changes. For example, in the MCD game, Ishizaki challenged Wakabayashi himself instead of asking for middle schoolers' help; and in the Famicom game, he was not a starter in All Japan Jr. Youth.

Captain Tsubasa II: Super Striker[]

A defender with no technique, but can protect the goal with guts. He is usually a goofy guy, but when it comes to games, he will show his utter gutsiness. In particular, his Face Block can block even the most powerful shots. However, because of the damage done to his face, that move consumes a lot of stamina.

Ishizaki was part of Nankatsu HS.

Later, he joined All Japan Youth to participate in the friendly tournament Japan Cup, and then, the World Youth. He also developed a huge crush on Yoko Katagiri.

Captain Tsubasa III: Kotei no Chosen[]

Ishizaki was a member of All Japan Youth, taking part in the Universal Youth. He eventually developed a rivalry against Mihael, much to his annoyance.

Captain Tsubasa IV: Pro no Rival-tachi[]

A gutsy defender who led the Nanbu University Football Club to the University Championship V2. He has been friends with Tsubasa since their elementary school days. After the University Championship, he was visited by Katagiri from the Japan Football Association. Ishizaki is now on his way to Brazil...

In the fourth installment, Ishizaki followed Tsubasa to Sao Paulo. In some non-canon routes, he was also part of the Brazilian league selection with Stratto and Santana.

Captain Tsubasa V: Hasha no Shogo Campione[]

In the final installment of the Tecmo series, Ishizaki returned to Japan and joined the professional club Nankatsu SC, playing alongside the French forward Louis Napoleon.

Trivia[]

  • In Captain Tsubasa V: Hasha no Shogo Campione, both of Ishizaki's special shots, Wild Monkey Buster and Face Diving, are quite powerful, as they are both stronger than Schneider's Neo Fire Shot. However, Ishizaki's low shooting stats make it impractical to put these two techniques to good use.
    • Can be averted in the case of the Wild Monkey Buster. A custom character can be created using Ishizaki's model, so if one is created with high ground shooting stat, the shot will become a very good mean to score as it is fairly powerful while having low stamina cost.

Notes[]

  1. Can also be unlocked by reaching the second half without letting Mihael score with the Rose Buster.
  2. Stylized as Scramble Face due to the 11-character limit.
