Description[]

The shot first appeared in Road to 2002 ch.61 "Fearful New Weapon!!". Misaki created it during free kick trainings when he was in rehabilitation in Road to 2002 arc (chapter 61). Someone seeing it up close will feel as if it's suddenly changing course, while it will look different from afar (Road to 2002 arc, chapter 61, pages 12 to 16).

Etymology[]

The name is subbed "three S", but the actual meaning is "Speed Slide Shot" (Road to 2002 arc, chapter 61, pages 17-18). "Shot", because obviously it's a shot, "speed" because it's faster than an usual free kick. The "slide" is coming from the slider pitch in baseball, which can, depending on the speed of the ball and the pitcher, look like it's suddenly changing its course, as well as going more or less downward. It's mostly used to score during corner kicks to the far side of the goal (Road to 2002 arc, and Golden-23 arc, respectively).

Ochado can also use it to score on the near side of the goal. Misaki was also able to use it as a pass during a corner kick (Golden-23 arc, chapter 49, pages 2 to 5).
