2 years prior to the events in the game, Stratto used to be a member of Milan. However, after accidentally injuring his best friend Bambino with a tackle, he was traumatized and decided to abandon everything, including his lover Miata, to flee to Brazil. There, he joined Sao Paulo. Even though he eventually became the captain and number 10 of the team, events in the past had made him close off his heart, as well as develope a fear of tackles.
When Tsubasa and Renato made their debut in Sao Paulo, Stratto showed a harsh attitude towards them, especially Tsubasa. However, Tsubasa eventually noticed Stratto's fear of tackles and the lack of heart in his plays. During the match against Vasco da Gama, Tsubasa outright told Stratto this, and also advised him to look ahead rather than back to the past. Thanks to this, Stratto managed to overcome this fear. He then willingly handed over his number 10 to Tsubasa, who became one of his best friends and rivals.
In Route C/D, during their campaign in Europe, the last opponent that Sao Paulo had to face was Milan. Before the match, Stratto told Tsubasa everything that happened during his days in Milan. Tsubasa replied that Stratto had resurrected in Brazil, therefore he needed to prove himself in the upcoming match, otherwise he would become a traitor toward Bambino for the rest of his life. Later, just as the second half was about to begin, Bambino came in as a substitution. Stratto was hesitant to tackle Bambino at first, but managed to return to normal after hearing Bambino's words. After the match, Bambino invited Stratto to rejoin Milan, saying that they will play as a combi in the following season.
Later on, during the World Club Cup, Sao Paulo and Milan faced each other again, with Stratto and Tsubasa being opponents this time. After the match, Stratto encouraged Tsubasa to come to Italy, as Serie A was the best league in the world at the time being.
In Route B, just before the Soccer Grand Prix final, Stratto managed to get past Van Berg in the race towards the best scorer title, with a total of 61 goals scored.
Captain Tsubasa V: Hasha no Shogo Campione[]
He and Tsubasa were good rivals when they fought for the title of ace in Sao Paulo. Now, as a Milan player, he's ready to challenge Tsubasa.

As Van Berg was injured, Stratto became a starter for Milan. He eventually faced Tsubasa again, who had joined Lecce.
During Hyuga's scenario, Stratto wanted to test Hyuga, as the latter was Tsubasa's rival in Japan. After the match, Stratto noted that if Hyuga could transfer 100% of his power to the ball, he would be the best striker in the world.
Later, Stratto was chosen to be a starting forward of Italy.

Trivia[]
- Stratto is one of the few game-original players which were hand drawn by Takahashi himself (the others being Mancini, Carnevale, Facchetti, Oliveira, Nascimento, Signori & Alcion).
- Stratto's manga style drawn by Takahashi is similar to the mangaka's phase during Saikyo no Teki! Holanda Youth.
- A small part of Stratto's story was later reused by the author to create the volante Radunga: they were both Sao Paulo's pivot players and captains when Tsubasa debuted on the team; both later recognized Tsubasa as their successor and pass the #10 jersey onto him; and both eventually transferred to an European team.
